Why did you become a member of the International Atlantic Economic Society?
About twelve years ago, I attended a session, organized by my dear colleague and mentor Dr. Joe Daniels, at the IAES conference in Montreal, Canada. I really enjoyed the experience. I have been a member of the society ever since.
What types of projects/research are you currently working on and what inspired/motivated you to pursue these interests?
My field of specialization is international trade and foreign direct investment (FDI). In addition, I have always had a great interest in economic development issues. So my current projects are related to FDI and development impacts of international economic activities.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering entering your line of work/field of study?
Be prepared to learn something new every day.
Going forward, what other projects/research are you looking to or hoping to pursue?
A lot of international trade studies rely on country-level data. I’d like to pursue projects that use micro-level data.
What’s your favorite hobby?
I like to travel. I enjoy visiting new places, understanding different cultures, and meeting different people there.
