Why did you become a member of the International Atlantic Economic Society?
Attractive conferences. The IAES provides great opportunity to meet with like minded professionals.
What do you find most enjoyable about your International Atlantic Economic Society Membership?:
Opportunities for professional discussions and hearing opinions of interesting people and accomplished economists and policy makers (Ewald Nowotny, Jean Pisani-Ferry and others)
What types of projects/research are you working on and what sparked your interest?
The problems and a dynamism of the European common currency area (Eurozone). Given the recent and ongoing developments, this is very exciting and hopefully fruitful field of analysis.
What inspires/motivates you in your line of work or field of study?
The future of Eurozone is the key to the economic and political stability not only in Europe, but in the world as well. And indeed, it constitutes the hope of civilization for many – as the recent Russian aggression in Crimea and Donbas indicates.
What advice would you give to someone who is considering entering your line of work or field of study?
Read, keep yourself informed and think. On your own, not in the group. And, indeed, get involved in the exchange of ideas – attend the conferences and seminars and write. Many may disagree, but economic research is basically learning by doing.
