Professor Kemme has been a long-time member of the Board of Editors of the Atlantic Economic Journal and we are happy to be recognizing him as the Member of the Month for February. Dr. Kemme first got involved with the IAES years ago when he was a young Associate Professor when he was encourage by a colleague to become more involved and we are glad he did! His works have been widely published and have been translated in the a variety of different languages. Outside of academia he has worked as a consultant to numerous organizations and corporations including the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (World Bank), the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations….read more>>>

This is a special month for us because we are hosting our 81st International Atlantic Economic Conference in Lisbon, Portugal and to celebrate we would like to acknowledge one of our upcoming participants, Professor Anna Shostya. Since becoming a member with IAES she has been an active participant in a number of conferences, acting as chair for multiple sessions, and that is why we are honored to have her as our distinguished Member of the Month for the month of March. At the IAES we are proud to be an organization that provides a platform to which networking and cooperation, among its members, happens on an international level. It is these ties to the international perspective that first piqued the interest of our Member of the Month for the month of May, Dr. Joseph Morreale. Since his first experience he has been an active member and that’s why we’re glad to honor him today. Dr. Morreale is a Professor of Economics and Chair of the Economics Department at Pace University, where he teaches Public Policy courses, as well as in the China Economic Studies program, and a senior capstone course focused on undergraduate research in economics. This month we would like to honor a longtime member of the IAES and active participant at our conferences, Richard J. Cebula. Dr. Cebula is the Billy J. Walker/Wells Fargo Endowed Chair and Professor of Finance at Jacksonville University. During his time with the IAES he has been a member of the Program Committee, he was an elected member of the Executive Committee, a guest editor of the AEJ, and since 1995 he has been on the Editorial Board for the IAER. Outside of the IAES he has had a long and distinguished career, authoring over 15 scholarly books, over 600 scholarly articles, and in 2014 he became President of the Mid-Continent Regional Science Association……read more>>>

For the month of July we would like to honor a longtime member of the society Dr. John Sorros. Since coming to his first meeting in 2009, the 68th International Economic Conference in Boston, he has been an active member and in 2012 he helped in the judging of our annual Best Undergraduate Paper Award Competition. Dr. Sorros is an Associate Professor of Cost Accounting and the Program Director of the Masters Program in Accounting and Control in Business and the Public Sector at the University of Piraeus. For the month of August we are honored to have Lara Shore-Sheppard as our Member of the Month. Dr. Shore-Sheppard is a recent attendee of our past conference in Lisbon, Portugal and being based in the United States she enjoys the fact that through our conferences she is able to interact with other scholars from around the globe. Dr. Shore-Sheppard is the Chair of the Political Economy Program and Professor of Economics at Williams College, and she is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. This month we at the IAES are honored to have one of our long-time members as our Member of the Month for September, Dr. Miao Wang. Dr. Wang first joined the IAES back in 2003 when she was invited by her colleague to participate in one of the sessions they had organized and has been an active member ever since. She has also been a member of the Board of Editors for the International Advances in Economic Research since 2007. This is a special month for us because we are hosting our 82nd International Atlantic Economic Conference in Washington D.C. and to celebrate we would like to acknowledge one of our longtime participants, Professor Trevor Chamberlain. We would also like to take the time to congratulate him on being elected, by his peers, to be a member of the Executive Committee of the IAES. Dr. Chamberlain first became interested in the IAES in the 1990’s after reading the Atlantic Economic Journal in his faculty library and eventually leading him to attend his first conference in 1998, in Boston, Massachusetts. For the final month of 2016 we would like to honor a longtime IAES member and conference participant, Dr. Miguel D. Ramirez. We’ve been privileged to have his support for over twenty years and we look forward to what the future may bring. Currently, Dr. Ramirez is the Ward S. Curran Distinguished Professor and Department Chair of Economics at Trinity College.
