If you recall, what influenced your decision to become a member of the International Atlantic Economic Society?
I learned about the IAES and its affiliated journals when I did a literature review for research. I was very impressed by the members and research agenda of the IAES, so I decided to join the society.
What types of projects/research are you currently working on and what inspired/motivated you to pursue these interests?
I am currently working on measuring the welfare cost of inflation. Inflation has surged since COVID-19 in many countries, and it has hurt the economy in all aspects. Therefore, I have focused on quantifying its impact based on consumer theory and advanced quantitative models in my recent research project..
What advice would you give to someone who is considering entering your line of work/field of study?
I consider myself an empirical Macroeconomist. Based on my experience, learning by doing is an effective way to be familiar with quantitative methods and empirical analysis.
Going forward, what other projects/research are you planning or hoping to pursue?
Financial markets have become significant parts of the macroeconomy and are important for macroeconomic stability. I plan to study the linkage between monetary policy and financial markets for policy designs and forecasts.
What’s your favorite hobby?
I would like to use my free time for reading and basketball.
